This is a really great headset. I mostly use it for Modern Warfare 2. It lets you hear better so that you know people are coming. The only bad things are the long cords. I ended up using cable ties to shorten them. Also the earpiece sometimes makes my ear sore on one side. Otherwise it’s just what I wanted.

I got this headset for my husband for Christmas, and he hardly uses it. It’s just too much of a hassle to hook up the headset to the TV audio and is easier to use the ‘crappier’ headset that came with the xbox.

Earforce One is better as far as quality… but when you factor in convenience, maybe not so much.

The Earforce X1 Headphones are one of the best online purchases I have ever made. From the first time you use them, you will hear things in your games you have never heard before. Playing COD Modern Warfare 2 you are able to hear clearly people sneaking up on you. Playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero has never rocked so much.

The people were very understanding when the first headset sent out didn’t work and replaced it quickly.

I just set my X31 up. It works amazingly. I reccommend this to any gamer or anyone who enjoys gaming or watching TV loud while not trying to disturb others… VERY satisfied with this purchase.

Bottom line, the batteries last about 3-4 hours AND the battery cover on the headsets falls off if you look at it. It’s a coward, put it on, look at it, it falls off. You’d think a headset meant for gaming could handle a simple look, but I guess I’m just that intimidating.

AND back to the batteries. I was using the TB ### wired headsets – just like these, but with a wire. I got so frustrated with the wire, it’s like a vine that grows around and clings to everything in its path, even if you wind em up nicely for the next session, when you return, they’ve tied themselves in knots. I mention this because the point is, having a wire or not is a tradeoff – batteries or tangles.

HOW ABOUT TB BUILDS A RECHARGEABLE WIRELESS HEADSET…pause…yep I just checked, NONE. How about it, wireless rechargeable. AND while you’re at it, make em blue tooth too, so you can create a bluetooth dongle to plug into the XBOX handset and get rid of THAT snaggletooth cord too.

Aye yai yai…how long do we have to play with inferior products! Welll, to be fair, the sound is good, they are comfortable, the boost and other nifty gadgets are good, my cord doesn’t fall out or require a rubberband that others have reported. BUT, batteries and a shy battery cover (maybe it’s just worn out given the amount of batteries I’ve had to replace)…who knows, but for the $100 my wife paid at Gamestop they’re not worth it – BTW that is a ripoff price – buyer beware – Amazon is a much better price and it’s also my favorite retail outlet, so skip the speciality store nonsense.

That about wraps it up, but if you have stock in a battery plant getem or if you want a good tip on what to buy, make it batteries, cause you’re going to need a LOT.

The Turtle Beach created a whole new gaming experience on our xbox 360. Great sound, works well wirelessly. Great for FPS games, as well as sports games and DVD movies on the XBOX. Oh, and fast free shipping from Amazon as well.

Had problem initially with cable provided with headphones. Turtle Beach customer service sent us a replacement cable right away. Headphones work better now.

This is a great product BUT….dont bother if you dont have a headphone jack on your tv, cause you have to use an RCA spliter adapter, and using this adapter chops the volume of the game coming through the headset in HALF. To me this defeats the entire purpose of owning this thing. SO BEFORE YOU BUY THIS check to see if your TV has a headphone jack, if not, spend the extra money to get the next model up. I recieved this headset last night and experienced this all for myself and realized you need the amplified headset when using the rca spliter, which he XLC does not offer. Im returning this today and buying the X11.

These headphones are good if you are playing off line or games that dont have loads of dependency for game chat. Great if you are on a tight budget or starting to experience gaming, or have games that you play at night and your wife is wanting you to play with the sound off because you play the speakers in the house too loud.
If you have money to spend on headphones, don’t get these. spend a little more for one up from these.

Lots of static from USB powered amp that comes with these headphones. Would have returned them if we did not have the volume control connector from the old turtle beach X52 5.1 surround headphones to replace this bad amp. With using this old part, the sound is great. The headphones are far more comfortable than the old turtle beach X52 headphones (might be lighter – don’t notice them on my head) but they don’t do quite as good of a job blocking other sounds. Far more durable than older model – have dropped them a ton of times with no problems. Tough choice unless you have lots of money – many of the 5.1 and 7.1 headphones are virtual which means 2 speakers. Other true 5.1 headphone at this pricepoint also have reported issues.

not only did one of the speakers blow out within the first week, but i’m actually glad it did due to the fact that these headphones are truly awful. At least this way I was able to return them. They are waaaaay too heavy, they clamp against your head, and the pads around the speakers are so thin that the actual speakers are smashed against your skull. Also, the bundle of cords on the other end of the headphones take up more room than a keyboard would, and yet the surround sound is still crap. This is possibly the most disappointing headset ever. I will never, ever buy from turtle beach again.
